Columbines from the Songbird Series are the largest flowered featuring long-spurred, upward-facing blossoms. Frilly glowing yellow stamens punctuate the center enhancing the intricate details of this lovely 3” violet-blue and white stunner. Will naturalize in a shady, woodland site.  Sold in quart container.

Partial shade is recommended when planted in a hot dry site. Enjoy the delightful antics of hummingbirds as they sample the nectar-rich blossoms.

Little care needed. Does best in evenly moist, rich soil. Leave fall basal growth to over-winter. Divide in summer if desired, not usually required since plant self seeds. If you want to prevent seeding and cross pollinating, remove spent flowering stems. Aging or damaged foliage can be completely cut back to level of new growth.
